what i would give to live those songs again

i didn't really get into american idol this season, but i started downloading some of david cook's song choices (mostly the studio versions) - and i am b-l-o-w-n away. it makes me bummed to not have watched a lot of the episodes. he even rocked the dolly parton and mariah carey weeks, which i'm told were the two hardest.

so - my favorites:
"always be my baby"
"billie jean"
"music of the night"

more music you should check out:

"cupid shuffle" - cupid. the best new participation song, i.e. cha-cha slide.

"light up the sky" - yellowcard. i'm so glad they're back on the scene.

"lookin' for a good time" - lady antebellum. 4 days in, still stuck in my head.

so yes, this is what i've been doing so far this summer. what can i say, it's been too cloudy and cold to pool it up. not that we haven't been going on adventures, because let me tell you - the wendy's drive thru is pretty exciting after 10:30 p.m.

i finally get to see nicole tonight - she's currently working 15-hour days for the DFL and the 6th congressional district - meaning doing everything she can to keep michele bachmann from being reelected. that's a longer story that i'll get into another time.

anyways, she's coming over to watch so you think you can dance - our summer staple show. it just gets better each season. i can't really say that about american idol...
