chicago o'hare is the mother of all shitty airports

let me just tack this on to the day i had yesterday.
life is an unfair bitch.

first of all, let me preface with the fact that each and every time i have flown in or out of chicago o'hare, my flights have had issues. going to italy last j-term required a flight from msp to o'hare, o'hare to munich, munich to amsterdam, and amsterdam to rome. well, we got to o'hare on time from msp and proceeded to sit in the waiting areas for the next four hours. we ended up on a much later direct flight to amsterdam and got to rome a full 15 hours after we were supposed to. coming home, we were supposed to be in chicago for 2 hours between flights, which ended up being 8. yes, eight hours instead of two.

now for today.

my flight from msp to o'hare was delayed over an hour because the flight coming in from o'hare beforehand was delayed.

everyone ran like hell to make their connecting flights, such as mine to milwaukee, which was supposed to leave 19 minutes after my delayed flight landed, and just happened to be in a concourse on the other side of the airport.

i made it to the gate on time (miraculously, thanks to a quasi-sketchy shuttle), only to find out that my connection to milwaukee (supposed to depart at 3:45) is NOW DELAYED UNTIL 5:46 because the damn pilot is stuck in st. louis as a result of a previous delay from o'hare.

i am supposed to be picked up and taken to buca di beppo for dinner at 5:30. i won't even land in the fucking dirty water brewery city until 6:22. that is, if we end up taking off at the new time.

who knows... at this point i'll probably land at midnight, dinner will be long over, and i will then either starve in my hotel room or be forced to order a $20 bagel from the sheraton room service, which will probably be closed by the time i get there. gahh....

this day sucks more than a hoover in a dustbin.

i paid $10 to have 2 hours of airport wireless to pass the time during these delays (read: facebook) and ramble on about how much i hate o'hare in this here blog. best $10 i've ever spent.
