she had a need to feel the thunder, to chase the lightning from the sky

well, it was another cold, rainy and extremely windy day...where is summer???? the high today was 61 - absolutely ridiculous. it's currently thundering and pouring outside.

i spent most of the rainy morning hosing the dogs down after they came inside covered in mud/dirt and grass. they love, love, loooooove rolling in the dirt, which sucks for those who have to give them baths, seeing as their fur is white. when i first went to let them in at around 7 this morning, i found chilly hanging out in one of the big flower pots. it was pretty much the most adorable thing i've ever seen in my life. pepper couldn't figure out how to get in the pot with him, which made it even better. here he is in all his glory, before they went back out to get ridiculously dirty.

the rest of today was pretty sweet. mike and holly and i went to a taping of Twin Cities Live and it was basically amazing. we got lots of free stuff, which is always fun. they did a segment on hula hooping for exercise, and drew names of audience members to help them out - and mike and holly were both drawn. how random is that?! here's a video of that segment - mike makes some really classic faces - he struggled a bit, haha.

we all worked for channel 5 at the state fair last summer, and our boss - kate - hooked us up with tickets and took us all out to lunch beforehand. we even got to meet the hosts, john and rebekah, and took photos. i might also add that i have the biggest silly crush on john - he's hilarious, super cute, and according to kate, very single. if only he wasn't 31...dang. i'm also really sad i can't work at the fair this year (i start work the day the fair starts - stupid), because the entire channel 5 area is going to be Twin Cities Live and the regular newscasts, meaning john and rebekah will be around all day, every day, and the staffers will get to hang out and run promos with them. so unfair.

john hanson - what a stud!
