take me away, a secret place, a sweet escape

okay blog, i suppose since i made such a big deal out of this date that you want me to express every detail and emotion that surfaced over the course of the night. i understand. it's a big dream, and i'd be happy to oblige under normal circumstances. however, since at this moment of the late afternoon i am a) crazy hungover, b) unprepared for my final tomorrow, and c) ready to fall asleep at the drop of a hat/struggling to keep my eyes open; i am going to sign this off with the following quick recap.

last night was, to put it lightly: fantastic, unbelievable, amazing, and all-around stellar.
dinner, a walking tour of the arb (pictured above) that included many places i had never been to before - like the president's oak grove and the lilac walk, and conversations that rival some of the best i've ever had. we were walking back through the arb when the clouds decided to let loose and give us a quick but torrential shower.

i happen to absolutely love rain and storms and all that goes with them, so i didn't mind getting drenched while running to Y's car. i also didn't mind when, as i reached for the door handle to jump in, he pulled my hand away from the car and put it around his neck.

okay, people, let me just tell you now that a kiss in the rain is probably one of the best kinds. i seriously felt like everything was moving in slow motion, and nothing could have capped off such a phenomenal evening better than a phenomenal moment like that one.

he dropped me off back at the yacht club a little after 11, the rain had since stopped and i was ready to dry off for a night out with my roomies. we hit up patty's, got free drinks from some creepy townies, and were pretty blitzed after a short amount of time. i took a shot with some of the newly-21 sigmas, narrowly escaped a smack during a chick fight on my way to the back bar, and drunk-dialed my awesome boss. life is G-R-A-N-D.

okay, so this turned into something way longer than i expected. guess it's your lucky day, blog! :)

as for tonight - i believe a nap is in order first. then studying for a bit before finally watching the grey's season finale we taped. more studying to follow that.

Your pictures remind me so much of my college campus. It was a small little women's college in the midwest. Charming.
